Rubber Strap FAQs

What are EPDM rubber straps used for?

EPDM rubber straps are designed for quickly securing awkward or irregular loads where flexibility and stretch are needed. They’re commonly used to hold items in cars, on bikes, for camping gear, tarps, covers, tool bags, and general everyday transport where rigid tie downs aren’t practical.

Why use EPDM rubber instead of standard rubber?

EPDM rubber is a high-performance synthetic rubber known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to weathering. Unlike standard rubber, EPDM is UV-resistant and weather-resistant, making it better suited for outdoor use where straps are exposed to sun, moisture, and temperature changes.

Are these rubber straps suitable for outdoor and long-term use?

Yes. Monkey Grip EPDM rubber straps are designed to handle outdoor conditions. The EPDM material resists cracking, drying, and UV degradation, helping maintain stretch and performance over time when used correctly.

What length rubber strap should I choose?

Choose strap length based on the size of the load and how much stretch is required. Shorter straps suit compact items and close anchor points, while longer straps provide more flexibility for bulkier or irregular-shaped loads. Measurements refer to the rubber length only and do not include the hooks.

Are Monkey Grip rubber straps compliant with Australian standards?

Yes. Each Monkey Grip EPDM rubber strap includes the required safety warning label and conforms to Australian Standards making them suitable for workplace and general use when used within their intended application.
